Monique Kemp, M.S. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate*. Monique is in network with Cigna, Optum, UMR, and United Healthcare. Monique can bill out of network for Aetna and BCBS.
Monique grew up in Miami, Florida and recently relocated to Dallas. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and went on the receive her Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Stetson University with certifications in Play Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to her education, Monique has significant experience working with children and adolescents in various settings, including Head Start and in a hospital setting.
During an internship with a Head Start program in Florida, she conducted Play Therapy with clients ages 3-6. Further, she completed her practicum and internship hours in a hospital setting for youth ages 13-17. Monique also has considerable non profit experience, as she worked as a Case Manager at a homeless shelter for youth ages 18-21 and started her career in Dallas as a therapist for a nonprofit agency.
Monique is well versed in various counseling techniques and theories such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Therapy, and Child Centered Play Therapy. She often leans towards building a person centered therapeutic relationship and applies techniques and treatment unique to each client as the professional relationship develops.
Monique's first love is volleyball, which she played at the collegiate level. She is a dog mom to an energetic Rottweiler and recently discovered a love of hiking. Monique loves trying out new recipes to make vegan food tasty.

*A Licensed Professional Counselor Associate is a person who has completed their Master's Degree and is licensed in the State of Texas to provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. The "intern" status designates that the license holder is within the first 3,000 hours of their clinical work experience and meets weekly with a Licensed Supervisor for clinical guidance and direction.
