As of March 20, 2020, we have gone online! In light of the current pandemic and health concerns related to COVID-19, we have implemented HIPAA compliant tele-health platforms to conduct therapy sessions. Why? We have found that some people prefer the privacy of their own home for a variety of reasons and we want to make quality mental health services accessible during a time that in-person appointments may not be the best option. We care about your health and want to be here for your during this time.
We have also discovered that for most of our clients, this has been a seamless transition. For a few clients, the transition has taken a little getting used to. We honor the awkwardness of this new means of therapy.
For our youngest clients, who are unable to attend in-person individual play therapy session, we are working with parents one on one, teaching parents how to do what we do, and then doing family sessions online. We have witnessed the transformative effects in our client's lives of moving forward with therapy in this manner. Parents are thanking us for giving them life changing skills.
With our tweens, teens, and adolescents, because they live in an online world already, Telehealth is just one more thing they master flawlessly. In fact, we have noticed that because teens are meeting with us for individual therapy from the comfort of their own rooms, they are more apt to open up and receive therapeutic interventions.
