Amanda Burke is a warm and compassionate counselor who believes that healing begins in a safe, trusting relationship. She creates a welcoming space where children, teens, and adults can express their emotions, explore their stories, and build the skills they need to thrive. Amanda is a trauma-informed therapist, attuned to the ways early experiences and relationships shape emotional development.
She approaches therapy with empathy, patience, and curiosity, helping each client feel understood and supported as they move toward resilience and growth.
Amanda earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where she gained extensive training in both individual and group therapy. During her graduate work, she served as a Lab Leader for a Group Counseling course, co-leading a weekly support group for university students and facilitating connection, emotional expression, and group cohesion.
Amanda has also provided direct counseling and support through her work at Vogel Alcove, serving children and families impacted by homelessness, and at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, where she supported children and caregivers navigating trauma, abuse, and crisis. These experiences deepened her commitment to trauma-informed care and her understanding of the importance of safety, play, and connection in the healing process.
Amanda’s clinical approach integrates person-centered, strengths-based, and play-informed methods to meet each client where they are. She enjoys helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, grief, life transitions, and the impact of trauma, and works collaboratively to foster emotional awareness, coping skills, and hope. Known for her calm, grounded presence,
Amanda believes in walking alongside her clients with compassion, authenticity, and respect as they build confidence and reclaim their sense of self.
