As therapists, we’re often trained to recognize grief in the context of loss through death. But what about the child grappling with a parent’s incarceration? The client losing their sense of identity in chronic illness? The community mourning cultural dislocation or climate collapse?
Grief lives in so many places; in lost dreams, broken attachments, shifting roles, and invisible heartaches. It doesn’t always look like tears. It can show up as rage, numbness, anxiety, or silence. And it can be hard to name… unless we’re equipped to see it.
This workshop is your invitation to expand your grief lens.
To hold space not just for bereavement, but for the full spectrum of loss: ambiguous, disenfranchised, intergenerational, anticipatory, traumatic, and more.
Therapists carry stories of grief every day. And yet, many of us feel uncertain when grief takes unfamiliar forms, when it doesn’t follow a neat “five-stage” model, or when it’s compounded by trauma, culture, or shame.
You deserve to feel confident, prepared, and empowered to meet grief wherever it shows up, across the lifespan and across identities.
In this highly experiential 3-hour CE workshop, you’ll:
Whether you work with children, teens, or adults, this training will help you meet your clients' grief not with fear, but with clinical grace.
Join us on September 26, 2025, and give yourself permission to expand your capacity for holding grief.
Because your clients need you, not just when someone dies, but when identity crumbles, safety shatters, or something essential is lost without goodbye.

Zoom- Live Online Experiential Workshop
Grief is not a one-size-fits-all experience. It extends far beyond death and into the spaces of ambiguous loss, identity rupture, cultural trauma, and everyday invisible heartbreaks. This 3-hour interactive workshop explores the multidimensional nature of grief, helping clinicians recognize and respond to a wide variety of grief presentations including: ambiguous, disenfranchised, collective, anticipatory, traumatic, intergenerational, and eco-grief.
Grounded in trauma theory, attachment science, and cultural humility, this workshop equips mental health professionals with language, tools, and rituals to support clients navigating complex grief. Participants will engage in experiential activities, clinical case examples, and small group reflection to deepen insight and confidence when holding grief in the therapy room. Special emphasis is placed on containment, grounding, and co-regulating during emotionally intense sessions.
Whether you work with children, teens, or adults, this workshop will expand your grief vocabulary, enhance your somatic and expressive interventions, and provide meaningful strategies to honor and hold space for the stories grief tells.
"As a breast cancer survivor, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to my work with grief and loss. This personal journey has deepened my understanding of how grief can shape identity, relationships, and the healing process. It also informs my compassionate, culturally aware approach to supporting others through visible and invisible forms of loss."
