Samantha, originally from Los Angeles, California, earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in Southern California. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University (CBU) in Riverside, CA.
Samantha has taught at the university level in counseling, child psychotherapy, and human growth and development for the undergraduate and graduate counseling programs at Azusa Pacific University.
Samantha places the utmost acceptance and compassion into her work with children, teens, young adults and families. Samantha began her work with non-profit agencies in the field infant mental health for children from birth to age 5. She assisted families in building nurturing homes through meaningful interaction in infancy and early childhood.
She has extensive experience working with parents, encouraging positive parenting through intentional and goal oriented work with parents of her child clients. Samantha has recently discovered her newest passion for working with adults in individual therapy helping them work through past traumas.
Samantha conscientiously works to bring out the best in the people she works with by non-judgmentally meeting them where they are and walking alongside them to uncover their true potential. Samantha utilizes approaches of EMDR therapy, attachment theory, play therapy, art therapy, solution-focused, cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems.
She skillfully helps her her clients work through life’s many challenges such a trauma, abuse, neglect, self-harming behaviors, physical aggression, depression, anxiety, grief, and/or loss, relational issues, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, developmental delays, insecurities and divorce recovery.
Samantha is mom to a cute toddler who fits the textbook definition of "terrible two," loves exploring Dallas for cool places to take brisk walks, and can be caught jamming out to her favorite songs for a quick burst of energy.
